Returning to the Lens, For Me

After a long stretch of focusing on work and shooting for others, I’m finally plotting my return to photography on my own terms. I’ve been behind the camera plenty, capturing moments for my company and creating meaningful images for friends and family, but lately I’ve felt that itch to create something just for me.

This summer and fall, I’ve lined up a few exciting shoots that mark my return to personal creative work. First up is a second series collaboration with Roxy, which I’m beyond excited to build on. In July I’ll be heading to Alaska to celebrate my 40th birthday, an entirely new backdrop for me. Then it’s off to Newport Rhode Island in August and Block Island in September - familiar destinations. Excited to find out what the time away will bring with regard to a fresh perspective and a new opportunity to get lost in the process again.

These four shoots are more than just dates on the calendar. They’re a reintroduction to what I love most: storytelling through stillness, atmosphere, and light. I’m still grounded in my career and grateful for the creative work I get to do professionally, but now it’s time to carve out space for passion, play, and my own vision behind the lens.
